Andrew is the new Trust Manager at ATET with overall responsibility for all of ATET's services. A native of Scotland, Andrew has called NZ home since 2003 and has management experience in the Supply Chain and Social Services sectors.
Amanda is currently tutoring on Te Mana Kowhiri, our Alternative Education unit. She is passionate about her work with young people and works hard to make a difference for them. Amanda has a degree in Family and Community Studies which is closely aligned to a social work degree. She is also trained in outdoor education and outdoor leadership. Amanda has previously worked at ATET as the Youth Transitions worker and has been a staff member here for the last five years.
Diana joined the ATET tutor team in April 2009 to tutor the Tourism and Customer Services course. She has excellent experience in working with adult learners and brings a wide knowledge with her across a number of fields. Her previous position was with the Veterinary Nurse programme at NMIT as programme manager. Diana is also currently working to develop a Teen Parent Unit here in the Nelson, Tasman district. Jane has been teaching Art and Design at ATET for many years now. She has tremendous experience in many different art modalities and in her class teaches a variety of mediums including oamaru stone, mosaics and screen printing as well as a large array of life skills. Jane comes from a teaching background and loves working with people and seeing them flourish.
You may know Kate from her prior role as one of our town's youth workers and she now is facilitating our youth work services project. If you are aged between 12-24 Kate is available to help you through 1-1 mentoring, or join one of her short resiliency building courses which run through the year. Alternatively she would love to have you join her on the next leadership programme or Up and Going Youth course. Kate is currently completing her national Diploma in Youth Work. She loves her work with young people and her role here at ATET.
Katie has joined us as a tutor/teacher in Te Mana Kowhiri - Alternative Education. She is a person of many talents which include being a trained high school and PE teacher and a skilled dance instructor. Katie has worked with our AE students before, relieving in 2009. She enjoys working with our young people and is committed to seeing them achieve the best for themselves.
Mandy is our competent Financial Administrator who is here on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon. She keeps all our accounts up to date, administers travel payments to students and pays all our accounts. To contact her directly please email her at admin@atet.org.nz
Mary is a highly experienced tutor at ATET, having worked here for 14 years during which she has facilitated many roles. Mary started this year with a bang tutoring the Orchard Harvest course. She will also be working alongside Jane in the Art and life skills course to offer work experience and support students with their individual plans and with Diana on the Tourism and Customer Services course. Additional to this Mary runs any work based training for students who fit this criteria. As you can see she is a busy woman so we recommend ringing for an appointment if you need to see her.
Monique is our general administrator. She is responsible for all the many tasks which make a busy campus life achievable. You will often get Monique on the phone if ringing in with an enquiry or if you come up to the office for information. Monique is here Mondays - Wednesdays from 9-1. Monique has been a student at ATET in 2010 and is a good person to talk to what our courses can offer from a student perspective.
Tracey's job is to help young people aged 15 - 20 yrs transition into work or further training. She can help you create or update your CV, provide support with finding meaningful work and training opportunities, work alongside you in career planning advice, and help you practice for an interview. Rosemary is the tutor responsible for our Driving programmes. She has an extensive background in teaching, road safety education and licensing endorsements. She is well connected and respected in the driving industry and can help trainees make connections for future job possibilities. As a qualified driving instructor she can train and assess drivers for a range of licenses and endorsements. Rosemary helps out over the campus with all driving instructions and endorsements that students might be interested in completing.
Kevin is the groundsman at ATET. He mows the lawns and keeps the garden tidy and does other odd jobs to keep us shipshape. He also works with Don in the nursery and keeps it looking tidy and the plants healthy and growing well.
